The Candlemas Feast, fourty days after the birth of Christ,
recalls the introduction of Jusus to the Temple and the
Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Candles were blessed
and every faithful Christian took them home and placed them on
the bed bolster to avert storms. To keep lamps away, instead,
they used to throw a piece of bread out of the door. To
solemnize this event, in the XIX cent., people decided to
organize a three days fair. Nowadays, in the beginning of
february, they still make this fair, even though it only lasts
one day. It goes on all day along the main streets of the town
and you can find every sort of good; it also attracts people
from other tows.
